Recognizing the gap between the lower-middle social economic children and the upper social economic children in communities across the nation, Guardian Angel Council recognized the need to provide assistance to guide the future of not only our childrren, but for the impact that they will have by contributing to our welfare as a collective group. This is why we established in 2012 our Book for Book program where we will donate a book to children in need.

Statistics with Books for Children in Disadvantaged Populations:

  • Children from middle-income homes have on average 13 book per child
  • There is only 1 book for every 300 children in low-income neighborhoods
  • Children from middle-income homes have been exposed to 1,000 to 1,700 hours of one-on-one picture book reading
  • The average child in a low-income family has only been exposed to 25 ours of one-on-one reading

This is why we wanted to make a difference in educating the community and why we established the Book for Book program. We partner with local businesses and organizations to provide books for children in need. We also take this opportunity to educate the parents and caregivers of these children that it is imperative that they focus a portion of their time reading to their children. We are constantly looking for partners to expand our Book for Book program, if you would like to parnter with us, please contact us today!
