Autism training for schools

AUTISM TRAINING ACADEMY – Empowering Educators, Transforming Classrooms

Guardian Angel Council has reached an agreement to exclusively license the Certificate in Autism Support (CAS) certification from Autism Training Academy (ATA). Through this partnership, GAC will help raise awareness and funding so that educational institutions can access autism certification for their faculty and support staff. This collaboration ensures that high-quality, evidence-informed training remains accessible and sustainable while advancing our shared mission of equity and inclusion in education.

Learn More About Autism Certification

Why It Matters

  • Growing prevalence: The CDC now estimates that 1 in 31 (3.2%) eight-year-old children in the United States have been identified with autism
  • Training gaps: Many educators and support staff receive little to no formal autism training, yet they are responsible for supporting students with complex social, communication, and sensory needs.
  • Inclusion challenges: Students on the spectrum are frequently misunderstood or excluded in classrooms not designed with their needs in mind.
  • National need: With diagnoses increasing and awareness expanding, schools must transition from awareness to action through structured professional development.

Why It Works

  • Offers a role-specific recognized certification for educators and support staff
  • Provides practical strategies that can be applied immediately in classrooms and on campuses
  • Promotes inclusive learning environments that reduce anxiety and foster understanding
  • Builds stronger connections between schools, families, and autism advocates

How GAC Supports ATA

Guardian Angel Council will lead outreach efforts to fund autism certification access for schools through partnerships with community-focused organizations, including utility companies, cable providers, foundations, and local businesses. These sponsorships will help cover certification costs for schools and districts—particularly those in under-resourced communities—ensuring that no educator or staff member is left without access to meaningful autism training.
